Howdy, I’m Alison (she/they)

I’m a psychotherapist living in Kansas City, Missouri.

I specialize in supporting adults with complex PTSD, DID, and a variety of adaptations to early, enduring trauma. I’m moved by the way people grow, like grass and wildflowers, despite habitat loss and dysfunction. I hold a deep reverence for my client’s life stories, and draw from a variety of clinical learning and wisdom traditions to support each person’s process.

I’ve worked as a psychotherapist in Chicago at community-based agencies and in private practice since 2017. My clinical work is informed by my own rambling path through creative practice, care work, and community organizing. Previously, I was a teaching artist and I’ve been told I approach therapy with a poetic sensibility too.

I have recently, and lovingly, returned to the prairie lands that raised me within the unceded territory of many Indigenous Nations and original land stewards, including the Kiikaapoi, Kaw/Kansa, Osage, Shawnee, Nutachi, Oceti Sakowin, and Otoe-Missouria tribes.
